Jim & Frances Lane opened Warpath Lanes in 1960 at the start of the 60's bowling boom. It was equipped with the most modern equipment AMF had at the time. Bringing a modern day bowling facility to Kingsport.

In 1970 they installed completely rebuilt 82-30's along with Mod IV masking units, ball returns, and seating. This gave the center a modern, new look.

1993 saw the glow-in-the-dark lanes with the introduction of cosmic bowling, fog, and rock-'n-roll music to the bowling scene. This became a Friday & Saturday night happening.

August 2001 saw the installation of Qubica automatic scoring and computer controlled bumpers for the kids. A system that was developed in Italy. The interior of the building was also given a completely new paint scheme.

In May of 2004 new 82-90XL AMF pinsetters were installed, the fastest and newest technology available. New ball returns that hold 25 balls and are taller were added. At the same time the customer service counter was moved, the concourse was made wider, and the bowling area was filled in level with the approach. Cosmic carpet was laid in the concourse area and tile in the bowlers area. Part of the seating was removed from the snackbar to allow for more room in the cooking area.

During the Summer of 2004 new ceiling tile and lighting was installed in the concourse and bowlers area. Asrto Construction installed it at a 45-degree angle to give the center a different look.

The final major change came in April 2006, making Warpath Lanes a modern bowling facility. New AMF HPL Glow-Track synthetic lanes were installed. At the same time the East side entrance was redone and the outside of the building was given a new bright color scheme.

Warpath Lanes continues the tradition of offering a family recreation facility in a alcohol free enviorment. And we will try to keep modernizing as necessary while keeping bowling prices reasonable for the services we offer.
